I swear to you I'm not a royal pain, but when ShopModerne.com offered to loan me this Wildfox Couture oversize tee to style and photograph, I couldn't say no!

The top, in military green, is 50% cotton, 50% polyester and 100% fabulously, wonderfully, unbelievably soft. When I first slipped it on, I felt as if I were at home wearing pajamas. That's why, even though I'm not an everyday jeans girl and rarely feature denim on this blog, I decided to stick to a slightly more casual theme in a ripped pair of JET jeans and a loose, flowing cape.

Bing bang birthday

I was so busy sightseeing and eating my through Paris that I didn't have a chance to take pictures of my birthday dress over there! So here they are... as promised. Thanks so much everyone for your sweet bday wishes and comments!

Even though I was working on my trip, I did manage to slip in some shopping. The black lace dress with shoulder cut outs--purchased after several trips to the Topshop on Oxford Street (I had to go several times; the place is overwhelming!). The Wonder Woman-inspired cuff--found in a vintage store near my hotel in Paris, where I consulted with the shopkeeper about its price using a very handy French phrasebook. And one of the best birthday presents I got this year was the Bing Bang Joan of Arc necklace, a creation of mixed metals like sterling silver, yellow gold, rose gold and brushed brass on a brass chain. All in all, it was a truly wonderful way to spend my 25th birthday. I hope everyone gets to celebrate their birthday in Paris at least once!

The best fall bootie

The hottest little shoe for fall I've seen yet is this Norland Scalloped high heel bootie by L.A.M.B. Gorgeous black suede is embellished with bold red stitching and layers of petals down the front. That towering 4.5" covered heel is tall--especially for me, a self-professed comfy flats girl--but for a shoe this beautiful, I'd happily suffer any pain. Too bad the price tag, at $425, is hard to swallow. I've been on the lookout for a good copycat and the online Topshop boutique offers the Sicily Frill boot, which is a watered down version with less frills, zero topstitching, and is priced at a far more affordable $135. Unfortunately, other discerning customers must have snatched it up already because it's completely sold out on the website. If you know of any similar shoes, please let me know!
